Matchmaking Rating (MMR) and League system
League system
The TFT ranking system matches players with similar skill levels to play together against each other. This system consists of nine levels, which indicate the level of players about which we have already written in one of the previous articles [for more].
When assigned to a specific division after placements, each player receives League Points (LP) for each game in which you reach a place 1-4, and you lose LP every times when you will be 5-8. If your LP exceeds 100LP, you will advance higher, and if it falls below zero, then you will falls to the lower division. If the player is in the 4th division of his tiers, then he is relegated to the lower tiers (e.g. from Platinum IV to Gold I).
Advancing in TFT ranked games and League Points (LP) MMR
Matchmaking Rating (MMR) is a system that is used to identify your enemies, and your progress is represented by the league system. MMR is not League Points. If your MMR is higher than the average MMR in the league you are assigned to, you will get more LP when you win and less when you lose and vice versa if your MMR is lower than your league average.
Winning / Losing or the space you occupy always affects your MMR, not LP. If your MMR is too high, you will jump over two Divisions. The long period of inactivity in TFT ranked games affects your LP, not MMR. You win many matches and the system picks up more difficult opponents. Being high in Silver 1, for example, by playing a match that could lead to your promotion to Gold, you should expect players from higher levels than yours in the game. This means you win more than you lose, which makes the system suspect you deserve a higher ranking. If you have a long series of victories behind you, you may even find that your opponents are several divisions higher. That is why we have heard from you more than once that you get to play opponents from a division much higher than yours, and it depends on MMR, your opponent loses very often, and the system selects opponents with lower classification to find them the right place in the ranking, e.g. You, it shows your opponent’s weakness, but also your strength. The average MMR of all 8 players is very similar to each other.
Matchmaking Rating (MMR)
A system that decides how good you are, based on who you beat and who beat you. This is important because it protects new players in TFT from experienced players. This system tries to set you 50/50 – lost, won. It increases when you win, it decreases when you lose games. What you should know is growing faster when you win games that the system predicted as your failure (<50% chance of winning); grows more slowly when you win games that the system predicted as your win (> 50% chance of winning).
MMR is hidden, you can’t check in any way. Your MMR is the number Riot uses to determine your skill level. When selecting opponents, the system also takes into account the level of enemies. All players’ MMRs start at the same value when they are waiting in line before the game for the first time. By searching for the right game for you, the system will try to find players with similar statistics. You have a separate MMR for each queue, so you can advance in one of them without affecting the rest.
